Let me be frank. I don't like Congressman John J. Duncan, Jr. as much as I used to. He opposed Operation Iraqi Freedom and makes fairly regular speeches reminding us of his continued opposition. However, in this 108th Congress, Congressman Duncan has regularly advocated improving veterans services, sponsored Social Security reform, supported an Academic Bill of Rights for colleges, and co-sponsored a bill to oppose the "under God" constitutionality ruling by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in Newdow v. United States Congress. While I hope to see him eventually succeeded by a Republican who supports the Iraqi theatre of the Global War on Terror, I nonetheless feel his Democrat challenger, John Greene, would only be even more anti-war.
Therefore, I will vote for Congressman Duncan on Tuesday.
