He said: "I haven't really ruled anything out but a career in the armed forces would be the best thing at the moment because it would be lovely to recognise all the hard work that the armed forces are doing."Prince William would be following in the footsteps of his grandmother Her Majesty The Queen (a volunteer for auxiliary service in World War Two), grandfather, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh (a bona fide WWII naval hero), father, HRH The Prince of Wales (a former Royal Navy ship's captain), and his uncle HRH The Duke of York (a combat veteran of the Falklands War). Even his younger brother, HRH The Prince Henry of Wales (known to most as Prince Harry) is planning on military service with the British Army.
He said: "It would be a very important thing to do.
"I wouldn't do it reluctantly because I really value all the efforts and the professionalism of those guys.
"I would do it wholeheartedly and enjoy doing it."
