Friday night about a dozen friends and I had a preparty in College Park and then saw The Breakfast Club's show at Blue Cat's. If you think you've seen an '80s nostalgia show before, think again--these guys are the '80s cover band. A good time was had by all (at least it was for those who can remember it).

I went to one Breakfast Club show. I didn't like it. They raped most of my favorite 80's tunes, and the lead singer is the cockiest piece of crap I'd ever heard, regardless of whether or not he's a beligerant irishman. That combined w/ the fact that I hate Blue Cats (mostly due to the fact that I leave the place smelling like a cigarette) made for an experience not to be repeated.

I agree, the lead singer definitely took away from the show. I didn't realize at the time how smoke-filled it was, but Saturday morning when I put on my jacket... whew. All the same, I might hit one of their shows again sometime. It's rare to find a quality '80s cover band, in my experience.
