My Votes - Part II
This is the second of three entries detailing how I plan to vote on Tuesday. For my pick in the race for the Tennessee Senate's 8th Senatorial District, see this entry. Today I'll outline my choice for the U.S. House of Representatives 2nd Congressional District:

Let me be frank. I don't like Congressman John J. Duncan, Jr. as much as I used to. He opposed Operation Iraqi Freedom and makes fairly regular speeches reminding us of his continued opposition. However, in this 108th Congress, Congressman Duncan has regularly advocated improving veterans services, sponsored Social Security reform, supported an Academic Bill of Rights for colleges, and co-sponsored a bill to oppose the "under God" constitutionality ruling by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in Newdow v. United States Congress. While I hope to see him eventually succeeded by a Republican who supports the Iraqi theatre of the Global War on Terror, I nonetheless feel his Democrat challenger, John Greene, would only be even more anti-war.

Therefore, I will vote for Congressman Duncan on Tuesday.

Really? From what I've read on your journal, I expected to see you vote Democrat.

I am not democrat-exclusive. I vote for the best candidate. I feel that Duncan is the best candidate and I support his decisions on Iraq.
